October 30, 2025 – Beacon Water Technologies LLC (BEACON) announced today that it secured a $1.5 million contract to deliver four of its package stainless steel GDisk® Pile Cloth Media Filters. These 12-disk units will reliably provide 24 million gallons per day (MGD) of treatment for the new Southeast Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (SEAWRF), built by Wharton-Smith in Lee County, Florida.
Lee County is constructing the SEAWRF to address the rapid population growth in its southeast region, notably around the Three Oaks area, which has experienced significant development over the past five years. This expansion necessitates additional wastewater treatment capacity to support existing and future residents without overburdening current infrastructure and while preventing nutrient pollution in local waterways. By producing high-quality reclaimed water through advanced nutrient removal, the SEAWRF will reduce reliance on potable drinking water. The SEAWRF is planned for operation by 2029 to deliver cleaner, reusable water for beneficial community applications.
“BEACON is honored to provide GDisk® filters for a second facility in Lee County, with our first scheduled for delivery and installation later this year at the Pine Island WRF,” stated Stuart F. Humphries, Chief Executive Officer. “Working again with Wharton-Smith to deliver another successful project will be a personal pleasure – they are a first-rate contractor. Lee County’s SEAWRF will provide needed reclaimed water, with the BEACON GDisk® ensuring final effluent quality.”
